Tri-8, Inc., DBA MyLaptopGPS, MyLaptopGPS.com, SafeBeacon GPS, SafeBeaconGPS.com, SafeRegistry, SafeRegistry.com and its subdomains (the "Web Site"), knows that you, our highly valued customer, care how your information is used and how your privacy is protected. We are committed to protecting your privacy and have created this policy in order to demonstrate our commitment to that privacy. With our statement, we intend to explain how we use the information we have gathered from our visitors, subscribers or customers, as well as the terms and conditions under which you may use the Web Site. Subscribing to MyLaptopGPS™ or Placing Any Other Order When you place an order, such as a MyLaptopGPS™ subscription, we require you to provide us with personal contact information including (but not necessarily limited to) your name, shipping address, billing address, credit card information, email address, and telephone numbers. This information is used to process your orders and contact you if there is trouble completing or shipping your order (when applicable). Information and Use We use the personally identifiable information you provide for internal purposes, such as processing your order, newsletter subscription or MyLaptopGPS™ subscription, analyzing trends and statistics, informing you of our new products, services and offers, and providing you with information from and about Tri-8, Inc. brands. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server(s) and to administer our Web Site. Your IP address also may be used to gather broad demographic information and to recognize customer traffic patterns and site usage. This information aids us in merchandising and in developing the design and layout of the site. We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads or email campaigns on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags (also known as single pixel gifs or web beacons) to measure advertising effectiveness. We may contract with companies or persons to provide certain services including credit card processing, shipping, data management, promotional services, etc. We call them our Vendors. We provide our Vendors with the information needed for them to perform these services, including enough information about individual items stored in SafeRegistry™ to properly and accurately execute these services. Furthermore, we may perform the same processing, shipping, data management, marketing or promotional services, etc., ourselves rather than contracting with companies or persons. Sharing Information We may from time to time rent or sell your name, address, email address or other information for use to reputable businesses that can provide you with valuable offers and information. Opting out of receiving these third party offers is very easy and a method of doing so is provided along with the offers. We may work with certain companies who, in conjunction with their own membership programs or rewards programs, require that we disclose purchasing information about their customers who visit our site through links from the partner sites, or use the partner's credit card to make purchases on our site (e.g., to earn points for purchases made on the site through links from the partner site). We disclose only the information required to make these programs work and support your membership with them, which typically includes the name and/or email address of the user as well as the dollar amount of purchases made. We disclose this information to companies under an agreement that requires that they obtain your consent first, usually under the membership or participation rules. If you do not want us to disclose that information to the strategic partner, then you must contact them directly. IP Address and Cookies In general, you can visit many of our web pages without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. But like most companies, we use "cookies" (small pieces of information stored on your computer) on certain parts of our Web Site. Cookies allow websites to remember user activity and visits to a site. At Tri-8, Inc., we may use cookies to determine the number of unique visitors we host on our website over any given period of time. Cookies are also used to facilitate login sessions in SafeRegistry™ itself, and MyLaptopGPS™, in order to properly verify that you are authorized (you have logged in) to view account data. We do not use the cookie to collect any type of personal information, and the cookie does not extract any information from your computer. Security The Personal Customer Information you provide -- including your credit card information -- to establish an account with us and to make purchases from us is secured using secure sockets layer (SSL) technology for all your transactions on our site. We use this SSL technology to prevent such information from being intercepted and read as it is transmitted over the Internet. The encrypted data goes to a secure site where your information is stored on restricted-access computers located at restricted-access sites. In addition, we maintain highly stringent security standards for our servers and applications. We make every reasonable effort to ensure 100% security for your SafeRegistry™ data, to prevent its theft or disclosure, and to prevent its accidental loss. Our data centers utilize such measures as 24-hour surveillance and biometric verification for personal access to restricted areas, all in an effort to safeguard your private data. MyLaptopGPS™ With specific regard to MyLaptopGPS™ for laptop computer tracking, we collect various pieces of data including the computer's IP address, uptime, internal IP address, logged-in username, and so on. We periodically DELETE logs of MyLaptopGPS™ regular activity. We collect the information for the express purpose of providing recovery services in the event your laptop is stolen. We keep a reasonable history of log data from your laptop in case you report it stolen and it has contacted our servers between the time it was stolen and the time you report it, so that we may be able to immediately begin recovery work. You specifically install MyLaptopGPS™, at your election, in order that we may recover your data in the event of theft and return that data to you, as well as the hardware if possible. We do not download files and file information from your PC unless you authorize us to by reporting it stolen or otherwise requesting file download. We do not delete files from your PC unless you authorize us to as part of the service, said authorization being obtained in a variety of methods including online or via the telephone. By using MyLaptopGPS™ you are explicitly and intentionally using our service to monitor your PC, track it, and recover data from it. If you do not want this activity to occur, do not install the software. We make all good-faith efforts to guard your privacy, delete data and logs from our server after recovery is complete, and safeguard the integrity of the service. Sale of Our Company In the event of a merger, consolidation, or sale or transfer of all or substantially all of the assets or business of the Company by, with, or into another company (a "Successor"), one of the assets which would generally be transferred is the information we collect from our customers, subscribers, and users. However, the use of this information by any Successor would still be governed by the terms of this Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time, including any amendment after such transaction, and you will continue to have the right to opt-out of sharing your information with third parties.
